    1. [S28] A Genealogy of the Family of Anthony Stoddard of Boston, Rev. Elijah Woodward Stoddard, A.M., (Coolidge and Wiley, Boston No. 12 Water Street 1849), Pg. 3.
      (1) Anthony Stoddard emigrated from the west of England and came to Boston about 1639. He married, first, Mary, daughter of Hon. Emanuel Downing of Salem and sister of Sir George, afterward Lord George Downing, by whom he had three sons:
      SOLOMON, born Oct. 4, 1643
      SAMSON, born Dec. 3, 1645.
      SIMEON, born 1650.
      He married, second, Barbara, widow of Capt. Joseph Weld of Roxbury, by whom he had two children:
      SARAH, born Oct. 21, 1652.
      STEPHEN, born Jan. 6, 1653-4.
      His second wife died about 1654, and he married, third, Christian, (about 1655) whose family name is unknown, by whom he had ten children, as follows:
      ANTHONY, born June 16, 1656
      CHRISTIAN, born March 22, 1657, married Nathaniel Peirse.
      LYDIA, born May 27, 1660, married Capt. Samuel Turell.
      JOSEPH, born Dec. 1, 1661.

      DOROTHY, born Nov. 24, 1665
      MARY, born March 25, 1668.
